Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday has urged industry owners to ensure labor rights and to be more attentive to make sure their welfare.
The Prime Minister came up with the call in a gathering of workers and owners at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) on the occasion of May Day.
“The more the owners will ensure the welfare of the worker, the better their production will be,” she said.
The Prime Minister also asked the workers not to take part in any destructive activity in the name of trade union.
Addressing the trade union leader she said, “You have to give a special attention that personal interest must not come first.”
Taking dig at the politics by BNP-Jamaat alliance she said, “They killed workers and laborers, I don’t know what they achieved by killing people in the name of movement.”
The Prime Minister said these types of destructive and subversive activities have not been accepted by anyone.
State Minister for Labor and Employment Md Mujibul Haque, chairman of the Standing Committee for Labor and Employment Ministry Begum Munnujan Sufian, country director of ILO, Bangladesh Srinivas B Reddy among others were also present in the program.
